Dear Santa,
Here is my Christmas Wish List.
The WIldcat Trail Bike Just what the hunter needs to access those backcountry bucks. |
My first item is a new mountain bike to aid me during next year’s archery adventures, when the roads are closed of to motorized vehicles. Then I can get from point “A” to point “B” a little faster, giving me more time to get lost on the ridges while looking for large deer. The bike is a Marin AXC Wildcat Trail Bike, and can be had for around $940 (although I bet there’s a discount for Jolly Old Elves).
Next on my list is a new GPS so I can find my new bike which I chained to a pine tree after several days in the backcountry. After looking at and under 4,000 pine trees throughout the weekend looking for deer, they tend to look the same. The model I want is the Garmin Quest GPS. Folks living below the North Pole generally pay around $449.95.
Garmin Quest GPS Not that hunters ever get lost, but sometimes we misplace the trail. A good GPS can be really helpful for those elusive wilderness tracks. |
Next on my list I would like to request a Swarovski 65mm spotting scope to aid me in locating deer on the other side of the canyon. This is a very valuable tool for us deer hunters. You have to see them before you can stalk them. Retail price is about $1480.
Another handy piece of equipment would be the new jet boil personal cooking system that incorporates a stove and a pot for space saving room in my pack. I could definitely bring more apple cider for additional warmth on those chilly nights while I’m looking for my new bike. The Jet Boil system is a bargain, at around $79.95 retail.
The last thing on my list is a gift certificate for my local taxidermist in the event I fill my late season hunting tag.
Thank you, Santa. May your Christmas be bright and Merry.
