Where do I put all of this stuff?
That’s a question that has been heard a lot around here. I am sure there are lots of hunters and campers who hear the same thing. For those who have a large dog box in their truck and find it inconvenient to remove the dog box and your everyday supplies, I have found an answer. Big Foot gear bags have a solution to contain your stuff.
A Big Bag The Big Foot Bags are built tough, for really big loads. |
They take their name from the zipper pulls. One has a large, yellow footprint to stand on and stabilize the bag while you pull the small footprint located on the opposite end of the zipper by hand. This is necessary due to the large size of the bags.
The Big Foot bags are available in three sizes. There is the small, which has 5.4 cubic feet of capacity (57”x52”), the medium with 14.8 cu feet (86”x72”), and large, featuring an enormous 37.3 cu foot (118”x96”) which is large enough to contain all of the gear in the bed of your pick up truck.
Now, for the technical details. They are constructed of 600 denier, woven, treated polyester with UV and vinyl coatings. The close and seal system is in two parts, consisting of strong, #10 lockable zippers, and a generous storm flap with snap closure that helps to seal out wind and weather. Padded carrying handles and 2 inch heavy duty cinch and compression straps are standard on all sizes. The manufactures say this is the only bag that works even when unzipped and empty and I can see that is true. Because the material is waterproof, the bags can do double duty as a ground cloth or as a tarp. When I first saw the bags I could see emergency uses as extra insulation or as a litter. Elastic straps keep the bag rolled up into a minimum size when not in use. They clean up easily so they could be used to haul game quarters as well.
Big Foot bags was kind enough to sell me one of their display bags at this year’s SHOT Show when they found out the airlines had destroyed some luggage. After arrival back home, the Camo bag helps clean up the truck and haul supplies while guiding hog hunts, and soon will be transporting equipment and clothing to the North American Gun Dog Association national finals in April on our trip from California to eastern Colorado.
