As soon as the Explorer loses position it immediately displays the message "Position Lost". In this situation, all information that is not correct on the screen flashes to warn you not to trust it. Similarly when it does get a fix it indicates "Position Acquired" on the screen. You get an unusual opening screen which says, "Do not rely on this product as your primary source of navigation." Slightly larger and heavier than comparable Magellan and Garmin units. The Explorer takes a little more time to learn with all the windows and screens compared to the Garmins.
