I was in the Cabinet Mountains in northwest Montana. I jumped this one in the timber and was lucky enough to get some lead in him before he disappeared. Luckier yet, we could get the horses right to him and didn't have to carry him out on our backs. This makes up for the one I got last time in '02. That one cost a lot of sweat. He's just a rag bull, but on public land they're all good and I'm very pleased to fill the freezer.
Yeah, I know what you mean on both counts. It's some of the best wild game there is, if not the best. I've only been gone from Montana for 26 days and I miss it too.
