10th Annual Tennessee Governor's One-Shot Turkey Hunt Less than Two Weeks Away

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

PULASKI, TN- Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to attend the 10th Annual Tennessee Governor's One-Shot Turkey Hunt and Concert to be held in beautiful Pulaski, Tennessee on April 8th and 9th, 2011. The Counties of Giles, Lincoln, Lawrence, Marshall, and Maury have some of the highest turkey populations in the state, and with the help of experienced local guides, 75 hunters will try their luck at harvesting a gobbler this year.

Hunters are provided with private land access, an experienced guide, a premium gift bag with over $300 in merchandise, multiple meals, concert tickets, and much more. There are still a few hunter spots and youth hunter sponsorship opportunities available, so call us today if you are interested. Hunts are $1,000 each with any additional proceeds supporting the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation (TWRF).

Friday, April 8th, there will be clay target shooting at the Wakefield Trap Range near Home Depot in Pulaski. This event is open to the public for a small fee, and would be a great way to check the sights on your turkey gun while visiting with other hunters. Hillcrest Country Club will host a guide's and hunter's dinner Friday night where participants can interact with outdoor celebrities Tony Smotherman, Brenda Valentine, and others. We are proud to announce that Governor Bill Haslam will be making an appearance at this year's Friday night event as well.

On Saturday, April 9th, Pulaski's square will be home to the 5K Turkey Run and Gobbler's Gala, where arts and crafts, TWRA booths, games, calling contests, turkey check-in, live entertainment, a pancake and sausage breakfast, and many other festivities will be happening.

Saturday Night, April 9th, Cardin Distributing in Pulaski hosts more than 800 people for a tasty banquet meal and a great concert. This year's scheduled entertainers include Gary Morris, Andy Griggs, Jeff Bates, Lo Cash Cowboys, Scarletta, Billy Dawson, Eric Lee Beddingfield, and others. There will also be a live and silent auction and free door prizes (including a gun) given away. This is an event you won't want to miss.

Tickets for the banquet/concert can be purchased for $25 each at various locations including the Giles County Chamber of Commerce, Giles County Tourism Foundation, Giles County Court Clerk (Courthouse Annex) or from www.twrf.net under events.
