Took off hunting Friday afternoon in search of a big buck. Started the evening spotting a huge 26" wide 3x3 right where I had spotted him during opening weekend, 35 yards on the wrong side of the fence. Found a couple of small forks before dark been then right at dark I found this bore at 44 yards straight down the hill below me. I let an arrow fly and it looked to be a solid hit. I walked down and found my arrow covered in blood. Went back to the truck and headed for Camp. Spent about an hour in camp and decided it was time to go try and find him. Followed the blood trail into some thick trees and found a nice size pile in the trees but then the blood trail was gone. Opted to leave him for the night and come back in the morning. Morning arrived and I went straight to the where I lost the trail. Did a 50 yard wide circle in the area and was able to get back on the trail. He was headed right into a stand of Oak trees with some boulders in it so I figured he was hiding in there. Well he wasn't instead he stood up in the 2 foot tall grass sore and could barley move. I knocked an arrow and it was all over after that. He was 145 lbs filed dressed back at camp and 98lbs hanging at the butcher shop. The shot the night before looked better than it was. Found out that due to the steep angle the arrow went in at a good height but came out low.

Way to go. I like that you were able to track him the next day and find him to put him out of his misery.

I have a feeling I must have bumped him out of the bushes Friday night looking for him in the Dark. I was happy to find him Saturday morning and kind of happy he wasn't dead, so that I didn't have to worry about any spoiled meat from the heat. As you can tell in the third picture up top the fog was thinking about rolling in that night but never quite made it, so it stayed warm.

Nice job....are those shuttle T's? I love my shuttle T's!

Wouldn't shoot anything else. They fly through anything and I can't even usually chip the blade. I hate all the mechanical broad heads I have ever shot. I went to Muzzy's about 4 years ago and then went to the Shuttle T's and don't think I will ever change. A guy I hunt with missed a buck at 40 yards opening weekend and I think it was because he was using mechanical and a little nerves. I watched him slowly pull back his bow and the blade slip open. He let off got the blades back into position and then when he released the arrow the buck dropped to its knees because of the sound all the other mechanical broad heads in his quiver rattled. It even made me duck.

A buddy of mine shoots them too, and he swears by them too. I shot a bear with them last year blew through both shoulders complete pass thru...very pleased with there performance. I hopefully I can try them out on an NW elk this year.
