Not that I'm counting. This whole being at work thing today is killing me
<
Gear is packed and organized and I am on the road at 12 noon on Thursday for my first bull elk hunt in Colorado. I had my first ever elk hunt last year on a cow tag with some friends on a DIY hunt. The goal is to drive from SF to about an hour past Salt Lake city the first day. Long drive but I did the same thing heading to NM last year so I shouldn't have any issues. The hunt is first rifle season with Hyatt Guides and Outfitters out of Montrose, the same place Speckmisser got his bull at last year. I only hope I have similar sucess.

I just can't manage to get any work done with my head buzzing but I'm sure no one here can understand that right ?

BDB,

Good luck on your trip. I talked with that outfitter at San Mateo last winter and remembered Specs trip. Thinking seriously of going on a trip with them.

I must admit I envy the feeling~!

Speckmisser had a great hunt there and it does sound like a promising trip~!

{:begin_fantasy:}There is an element of temptation to run out there buy a tag and whack a cow or bull myself just to get some elk meat in the freezer {:end_fantasy:}

Speck,

Just for the heck-of-it I tried calling him today on my way home from work. No dice. The anticipation is killing me and I too am dying for the stories.

BDB, we're rootin' for ya!

Thanks for the rootin' Foo' and Speck, but no bull for me. I posted a quick note in a new thread.
