A friend of mine has 800+acres off Mt Hamilton and invite me, my friend and his son to do a hog hunt. He has a Hog Hunt operation with cross-breds and pure russians on his property. It was decide my friend's son and i would hunt. This all happen this past Friday and Saturday. We got up there just after noon on Friday and set out to hunt at 2:00pm, by 3:30 we had two meat hogs down. Here's a picture...meat is being processed into smoked hams and 3 kinds of sausages.

Ok..PM's sent to all that requested some information about this operation. I just want to state that I have "zero" vested interested in this hunting operation, just a friend who owns it. It is a high-fenced operation (400+acres) - was done mainly to hold in the exoctics he had on the ranch and to try and keep the predators out. It worked for a bit until a couple hungry mountain lions found an easy source of food. He's had to spike the corner posts to curtail the lion activity + DFG has taken two off his land. He also has a a couple dogs there (Walkers) to help. This is the 1st time I've ever hunted a high-fence ranch -- if you're looking for a 1st time hog, meat in the freezer or just a good time, this is a good place to go. Plenty of dirt roads to the stands..manzanita is thick...the big boys like to hide out in the thick stuff. there are some pretty darn aggressive boars on the ranch...anyways, those that sent PMs have his contact info...good luck!

Btw, I may not be an expert on DNA, nor can I state whether boars in Russia are called Eurasians...but whether or not, does it matter? :hog chewing: :I apologize if I called them one thing vs the other :not-worthy:, but seems to me that if they were were a strain of breed that was derived from Russia wouldn't they be Russian? I'm a newbie so go easy on me :bag-on-head:..I guess Eurasian because it's the continent? I don't really care personally, but they are loads bigger than the ferals ....:skeered:
