We have dove proso millet, corn, wheat, and sunflowers planted and the doves are starting to come in. The proso millet is loaded with seeds and the lack of rain has kept the weeds/grass to a minimum so finding downed birds will be alot quicker this year. With this many birds here already I can't wait to see what it looks like when the field is cut right before the season.

I checked on our local spot a couple weeks ago. We kicked out close to 200 birds. I don't forsee them going anywhere. Only trick will be to get there early enough to catch them coming in!!

We don't get that option anymore on opening day. So many people only hunt the first 2 days (sat and mon when the season opens on sat) that we are only allowed to hunt from noon till dark the first 3 days of the season, all day after that.
