The San Diego Pet Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds this weekend will include the 2003 San Diego DockDogs Challenge. The Challenge features dogs jumping for distance from a dock and splashing down in water, an event popularized by the Big Air competition at ESPN's Great Outdoor Games. Top dogs are Dwight, the bronze medalist at the 2003 Great Outdoor Games, and Hogan, of La Jolla, the No. 1-rated dockdog in the state, owned and trained by Mark Stuart. There will be a free training seminar tomorrow at 11 a.m. The first competition goes off at 2 p.m. The finals are Sunday at 2. You may enter your dog in the competition at the site for a $10 fee.
