Got drawn to hunt Lake Sonoma April 5 and 6.

Been out there a couple times. Gonna really scout out there in a week or two.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Including campsites, general areas anything to get me started!

Thought that some of you pig hunters may have some info.

Are you going to have access to a boat, or just hike in each time?

I haven't been out much recently, so I can't offer much advice, but knowing how you're going to get around might help others offer better advice.

Good luck out there.

Try to the left of Cooley ranch saw a bunch of Turkey's big ones there when pig hunting about 100 yards from the water and maybe 100 yards to the left of the ranch but can't promise they will be there now

Got drawn for same hunt last Fall. Spent a day scouting a couple areas off the beaten trails with no success. By 1030 the area was crawling with mtn bikers, joggers and horse riders....most of them kinda freeked out seeing us in gilly suits walking around with big scarry guns!

I can tell you were not to go, but there should be dome guys on here with recent 411.

Awesome area!

I have access to a boat if need be.

I heard that up around Yorty Creek there's birds, but its right near the parking lot and boat launch so I don't know how I feel about that.

I'd rather get in a little deeper though, figure I'd have better luck.

I was at Yorty this past weekend, on foot, and saw them, heard them across the little waterway still flowing there. Funny thing, they were gobbling up a storm with the full moon before first light and became silent after the moonset just before sunrise.
They've also been gobbling at Liberty Glen, north of Wulfow Shortcut water trough.

My son and I got drawn for the opener. Will take the boat IP the day before to scout and do a little bass fishing.

KT the turkey drawing is very limited, if I remember correctly they draw 30 applicants where the pig hunt is open to all. They tried opening the pig hunt back up to shotgun/slug about 5 or 6 years ago and it did not go well.

Yes in all the paperwork it says that is a general season turkey hunt. Not an archery season.

I thought the same thing though.
