Looking at the upland regs it says no permits. I guess the sage chicken numbers are down?

No permits the last two years...

I think our sage grouse numbers have gone up a little. But, we don't have a ton anyways. I wonder if we will ever get those tags back.

The numbers have been dropping for about 30 years. They have finally started to rise just the last few years.

Had to go to Wyoming for my first SG hunt! Flushed a covey of them with a herd of pronghorn antelope only about 150 yards away.

How they taste btw?
Heard they don’t eat well cause of their diet? Any truth to this?

I took my friend the last year they gave 15 permits in CA and he got one. It is sad they aren't issuing permits I live in the area and there are tons of Sage Grouse here. I came across a biologist who was surveying sage grouse and he was looking in the wrong area completely, no wonder....
