Alright guys.... The big boar that's hanging was shot by my father in the year 2000 at Fort Hunter Liggett from TA 27..... I remember as a little boy i tagged along with him for the first time ever to Fort Hunter Liggett... It 2nd weekend for deer and season and like always it was packed! We got training area 27 and first thing Saturday morning in a field of tall yellow grass that ended at a oak tree forest I saw this monster... At first I didn't know what to expect if I were to see a pig.. I mean cmon it was my first time ever going pig hunting with my father... My father parked the car and told me to stay inside and grabbed 5 bullets for his 7 Magnum and stepped out from the vehicle.. He took his first shot at around 500 yards away but he missed I saw the dust come out right under the pigs feet as he was making his way over to edge of the field into the forest.. As I was watching through my binoculars the pig turned around and like as if he knew exactly where my father was and started running like a beast towards him.. My father took his second shot and got him in the stomach area... The pig went down but didn't hesitate to start charging towards my father.. Long story short after getting 3 bullets in him the pig was about 70 yards away from the vehicle with only 3 legs its jaw hanging and its guts sticking out... I stepped out the vehicle with excitement so happy to see the pig go down.. I started dancing and cheering my father when this pig heard me and started charging straight at me... At 10 years old i barley manage to throw myself back in the car and my father put the 4th bullet in him straight in the heart... Finally it dropped... We approached to gut it stomach but it was already cut open from the bullet wounds and most of the intestines were already sticking out.. We put him in the car after about 20 minutes of struggling and with our heads out the window from the disgusting smell it had we drove all the way to camp still amazed from what just happened... The pig was 275 lbs gutted and was a very young boar since it had such small tusks for a big boar... We were happy both me and my father... Especially for the fact that it was my first hunting trip and since then i fell in love with hunting... The sow was also shot by my father in zone D11 Los Angeles area which is litteraly a very rare thing to come across them down here in the nation forests... I hoped you enjoyed my story and also the pictures!
