Pentax U.S.A. Inc. today announced three new digital cameras -- the Optio 33L, 450 and 550. And while they've been announced today, they won't actually debut until next month's Photo Marketing Association (PMA) show in Las Vegas.
The Optio 550 is a new 5.0 megapixel camera, while the Optio 450 is a 4.0 megapixel model. Both share features include a 5x optical zoom lines, a 1.5 inch LCD display, "movie mode" that captures up to 10 minutes of video and sound, voice memo recording, panorama assist, and full manual control. Both cameras also feature USB interfaces, AV output, and rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries.
Other features of the cameras include time-lapse movie mode, optical viewfinder, nine-image zoom display, digital filter mode, built-in auto flash, various shooting and picture modes, white balance mode, metering options, sharpness, saturation and contrast settings, image protection, and world time function and alarm clock.
The Optio 33L, meanwhile, is a 3.2 megapixel camera billed as "smaller, but smarter." It sports a 1.5 inch LCD display that swings up and rotates 180 degrees. It also has a 3x optical zoom lens and a compact design. Pentax said the Optio 33L is good for self-portraits, group shots, and high or low-angle photography.
Look for Pentax in booth C140 at the PMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PMA show runs from March 2 - 5, 2003. Other details including release dates and suggested retail prices for the new cameras were not available.
