Paul, if anyone give you a bad critique over at FM over these shots they are blind. All GREAT shots! Nice catchlight in the little birds and the dove portrait is nice and sharp, well exposed!

Good job Mate!

Thanks Zach, only good replies at FM... and some advice on how I can improve my comps. The people over there are awesome! I tried for a long time to learn as much as I could on my own, but it wasn't until I started asking for advice over at FM, that I finally started noticing a little improvement.

Nice collection there Clutch. Very good shots. My only suggestion might be just a hair more saturation and a hair more contrast in your PP. Maybe? It might make them "pop" just a little more - it could be too much too - you'd have to try and see.

BTW, What's your screen name over at FM?

Thanks Gil, I'm always a little afraid to do a contrast adjustment with birds... espesally the black-capped chickadees. I'm afraid that I might lose some detail around the eye's. I'll try next time, I can always undo it if it's too much. And, I think you're right about the saturation (another thing I worry about over doing).

I use paulk_68 on FM. I don't post too many images there, mostly just reply to all of the awesome shot's from other photog's.

Thanks Leod, once the weather warms up a little more there should be a lot of birds returning... it only made it up to 40F today.

Those are great, sharp pics Paul. I'd be happy with them. What is the website for FM? I'm not familar with that. Thanks.

Thanks Dave,

here's a link to the fredmiranda.com home page http://www.fredmiranda.com/ just click on forums and it will take you to the sections for different photography styles, wildlife, landscapes, and etc. It's probably the best photography site on the net.

Most of these people shoot on a pro level, and it's pretty easy to get discouraged by looking at their images... just try to remember that they have been doing it a hell of a lot longer than we have. And... if you want to improve in a hurry, post a few images and ask for a critique and advice on improving.

Great stuff clutch. You sure are on it now! Have you looked at some of the plug-ins avail at FM? I have the velvia vision and love it.

Thank you Bill, I can't figure out how to download a plug-in so I can access it in CS2 (I've tried). Is there an easy way to do it?

I just read the directions and followed them. You select your Adobe app and version from your desktop and then select, (I think it's automatic), the plug-in folder.
