Whopping 408 Pound Deer!
KHQA News
11/26/03
It's deer season in Missouri, and every hunter has a story to tell. But it's going to be hard to top the story Mike Kuda of Perry has. He shot a buck that weighed a whopping 408 pounds!
Here's the catch...no one seems to know exactly what type of deer he shot. As you can see it has shaggy fur and an unusual nose...and although it had some features of a white-tailed deer...it didn't have the obvious one...no white tail on this buck.
As for the rack...it's a wide one, but only a seven-pointer.
Missouri Conservation officials who were at the check-in station originally thought Kuda shot an elk, but ruled that out.
They also considered it to be a red stag...and then thought otherwise.
After awhile, they gave up deciding what type of hybrid this is...so they gave Kuda the big buck and his deer tag back so he can head back to the woods for another shot.
