I drew a 411 NE California either sex archery tag. Holy moly what a shocker ! I found out last Friday and still can't think straight. Time to start shooting a lot and getting the gear together.

Need to do a lot of research and get in shape. It's only 2 months away.

My boss is gonna flip when I ask for 2 weeks off, too bad !

Congrats on the tag - it's the same one I tried for. Beautiful country up there, and there is a lot of area for the elk to hide out in. I know a guide who loves and works up there. Let me know if you would like to get in touch with him.

I'm not sure where you live, but you should seriously consider driving up to scout the hunt zone. It is a BIG area! You need to find where the elk are at WELL before the hunt. You have a chance at 400+ class bulls on this hunt. There are a handful of really good areas in this zone, and a lot of areas devoid of elk... email me. I've got a line on some elk from a week ago. And I can point you to some areas where the big ones live...

Scouted for 6 days, bow is dialed in, been practicing shooting and calling, packed, unpacked and packed again. Mission to launch at 2000 hrs tomorrow night, to establish a base on Tuesday, and the assault will begin at legal shooting time on Wednesday. :smiley-mouse: :archer green:
