Here are a few highlights from the second check of the cameras. The elk are still playing with them, somewhat.

Lots of activity on all cameras. The barbed wire fence is about 4 feet high and the camera is mounted even with the top strand, so the partial elk was epic.

The rub still had sap dripping, so that's super fresh.

Another check in 2 weeks or so. We'll keep the cameras up until the last day.

Sweet ! Cool pics. I was up there also this weekend, saw a lot of elk - I even saw a 4 point bull hanging out and playing with a herd of mule deer, go figure that. When I tried to sneak in for a picture they busted me and ran off. One young muley buck hung back and the bull circled back to keep him with the rest of the herd. He thinks he is one of them. Anyway all of the sign I saw was in the pine / oak vegetation and higher elevations.

That first photo is really cool. A Conga line of a bachelor herd. From the partial one already past the camera, all the way back to the set of eyes on the 4th guy. Pretty neat!

Yeah buddy. That camera's been a steady producer. And the really nice thing is, it's about 400 yds from the campsite. A few more months and we'll know for sure where to set up the blinds. Right now, camera 1 has my vote.

I think I would find another camp and keep that spot for hunting.

Its in heavy pines, off the beaten path. Doesn't seem to matter if the campsites occupied or not. We kinda stumbled on it one day wandering around. I'm sure if it was direct line of sight, it'd be a different story.
