did anyone else see the picture in outdoor life magazine (i forget which month, but its has a bear on the cover) of the guy and the 800 lb boar he shot in texas? i had no idea wild hogs could get that big. anyone have any pics of one that big while standing on four legs? that thing looks more like a cow.

I believe I saw the same thing. It was awhile back (4-6 months) maybe a little longer ago. It was a really small picture and had some kinda bullet advertising next to it, I think that was the whole point of the picture was the bullet that was used.

The thing I did read said ''800 pound'' pig bla bla bla that much I remember forsure. Didnt look that big but the picture was small enough I couldnt tell. I wouldnt second guess it probably no different then a world record buck that has 40+ points.

Too bad there isnt a boone and crocket or some kinda record book for pig hunters.

I think I remember that picture. It looked like a domestic pig to me.

Maybe it was a "here piggy piggy" then a shot at 10 feet for advertising purposes. That thing probably had its head in a bucket of slop when it went down.

nah, this picture wasn't an advertisement. its on page 91 of the april edition. however, outdoor life does different editions for different areas of the country, so if you're not in the south, it may not be in your magazine. but yeah, this is a good picture of this hog and it is huge. they have it hanging by its hind legs and its feet are a good foot and a half over the hunter's head (he's standing) while its head is laying sideways on the ground. and the hunter does not look like he'd be a short guy. and it definitely doesn't look like a domestic pig to me. i wish we could find someone who had some info on this thing.
