Hey everyone. My name's Max and I live in Oakland, CA. I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hello to everyone and intoduce myself. I have a few questiopns. First off, I'm going on a hog hunt with Cross Country Outfitters near Paso Robles, CA. Has anyone ever gone out with these guys? Any thoughts/suggestions? Also, I'm looking for a butcher in the bay area to take my game to. Someone prferablly close to Oakland. Anyone know of one? Thanks guys!

Welcome to the best form you could find. About cross country outfitters as i remember someone from this form hunted there not to long ago and said the place was crawling with hogs. and got one. at the top of the this form you can also find some input on guides under hunting outfitters & guide reviews. Good Luck.

thanks for the welcome. I looked at Cross Country in the guide review forum but it had no reviews. I'll search for the post you referred to. Thanks again!

MaxStar:
I've used Bobby Lee's Smokehouse in Hayward for hog and deer, been happy with his work and sausage. Also used Galvans Market in San Leandro, they charge a flat rate of 100.00 any size hog. Happy hunting.

Can't help you with CrossCountry Outfitters, but I will second the recommendation for Bobby Lee's. I process my own game, but I always take my wild pig hams to Bobby Lee for curing/smoking. Some of the best stuff you'll ever taste, as far as I'm concerned.

I have heard that he's a little pricey for doing a whole hog, but I don't have anything to compare to.
