We are headed out on Thursday for Sonoma and I have trying to figure out how to get there. We will be coming in north of Cloverdale off of 101. how do I get to the lake from there. We will be launching by hand and from what I understand we need to do that at the Yorty creek area and then be camping at Loggers camp. thanks for the help.

if you plan on leaving early on thursday the gate to yorty creek does not open until 7am. Since the check in station in on the oposite side of yorty creek it may be easier to use the boat launch on that side. From where you are it seems like a lot of back tracking.

Good luck.

No trailers at Yorky creek launch just so you know, though I assume launching by hand means boat in the truck and not a trailer. If you plan on spending the nite you need to go to the visitor center and pay for your camping and then head back to Yorty creek launch. You also need to pick up a parking permit to park overnight at Yorty launch. That drive is a long way out of the way. If you have a boat with a decent engine your best off launching at the main ramp as you won't need to drive all over the darn place for permits and paying for camping.
