G'day.I had a little play with an old rifle I have. It's a bruno mk1 or 2 made in china.I have had it since my 12th Birthday. The finish on the rifle realy realy got to me over the ages.I was sick of looking down at brown wood paint under one hundred coats of clear 2pak or something. It was getting dented (the clear) and started (after19 yrs) to look abit ratty. So with this in mind and armed with a fallow shed and chequering tools I had my first go at beautifying a rifle stock.
After brown paint removal.

After aplying green wood stain, and antler pistol grip cap. Also chequering grip.I have never chequered a stock before and for my first ever attempt it came out nice I must say.

I realy enjoyed doing this,I think I have found second calling (as apposed to being a sheet metal worker)...
Moove this thread if it's better off in another area.
