Amazing Hogs

[Hog slayer]

While setting up our trailer this morning on the ranch my son yelled at me and said dad look. We saw this huge bore running right through camp. He looked to be in the 200 plus range. He was making his way toward the bob-wire fence. I was thinking this hog is screwed. I was amazed, he just lowered his head and never missed a stride. He ran right between the bob-wire. He never slowed down. I am sure the hog was at least 20 inches in the shoulder area. We went and checked the bob-wire fence, tight as a drum. I am sure he has a cut on his back. Sure is fun watching mother nature at her best. No guns to shoot the hog, just dropping the trailer off. I guessed we could of thrown rocks. Anyway just a real neat experience seeing the hog.

Yeah they are. A friend of mine has a vineyard that attracts transient hogs. I was out there one time when they showed up and saw them easily slipping under the bottom wires of the vineyard (only about 8-12" off the ground), just like a ferret. I'm curious now as to if he has ever had them run right through the vineyards and just plow it down, similar to what you saw.
