My folks live in Folsom, and my dad and I want to flyfish steelies in the American, but not in the picket fence that usually congregates during a run below the dam. Does anybody have any info they can share on good steelhedaing well below the dam and what kind of flies might be used???

If you have a spot that you don't want to blast over the airwaves, or don't want to give the exact spot but can point us to a general area, then please e-mail me. I always respect people's private spots.

We normally fish the Klamath for steelies in the fall at the convergence of the Trinity and the Klamath, but my tight schedule won't allow me to leave long enough to make that trip this year...:(

Thanks!!!

Tim

I've never done any good with stealhead in there. I've done ok from time to time with salmon. Did terrible this past year but the year before was good and the year before that even better.

Thanks NorCali! It's good to hear that we weren't the only ones having a tough time!

Thought maybe somebody has had some luck in there. I know some people do okay with bait, but we like the fly action!!
