Ano Nuevo Pig Hunting

went out on saturday for about 9 hours hiking around. really cool terrain, huge redwood stands, higher on the ridges gets a lot of smaller hardwoods and shrubs. Would have been perfect area for a winchester 94...now im thinking about getting one.

saw tons of sign, rootings, cuttings, rubs, fresh tracks, no scat though. The pigs are definetly there, we just weren't lucky enough to run in to them.
Here are some pictures, mostly just scenery, but they're pretty cool

aweome piece of property, tons of deer, saw lots of bobcat tracks and coyote tracks. they own about 1000 acres

you cant see it too well, but these are all rootings in the foreground. id estimate them at 3 days old or so. there were tracks in them of a pig that I would estimate at at least 250lbs

Do the wild pigs also sharpen their tusks by rubbing it on tree trunks???? Looks like it???

im not sure why pigs cut up tree trunks. But I know that in hawaii almost every tree on the main trails is cut up like that one. Ive even seen a pig play fighting a tree

haha, i'll ask what they think about bringing a few dogs up there. The younger brother is really into quail hunting and training dogs. I was talking to him friday night and he was telling me he wanted to see dogs catch a hog. so it might be able to be arranged.

The whole time I was up there I was thinking "I wish I had dogs"

How high does that go up on that tree?

I'd say you need to set up a stand near that tree for A-zone archery.

Ev, My father in law is a breeder for Driscolls. He knows the people you speak of well and says they are worth millions + and are very private. Way he put it was it is a small world. Me talking to him is proof. If you want to keep your access he recommends you zip it. That's me passing on his
