its been awhile since i posted my last post in this forum.
i was busy in the office work, so i was kindda put hunting aside. this boar was taken during the weekend wild boar competition in surabaya, indonesia. i was informed my by people in my hunting area that there is a boar that keeps coming to eat in the same corn field.
so i was siting on the ground watching the corn field, suddenly around 5pm i heard some noise. the boar was entering the corn field. on the small opening i pulled the trigger and hit him in the right ribs
i just drop on the spot but rolled downhill.
the boar weight is 130lbs and it got the 5th place on the competition. the 1st place was 200 lbs, too bad i cant get the picture from my friends
i hope u guys can enjoy

Congrats on the competition, and on putting another one in the freezer! Those are really unique looking hogs.

Nice pig. Doesn’t look chewed-up either, so I guess you didn’t use the dog and knife method? The wide coverage JHO is amazing. Wonder if the Philippines can check in? I got to hunt in that area of the World once with my 2 bother-in-laws . It was in the Philippines on a small island off of Palawan. I don’t know if they were trying to scare me, but we had to leave early before the pirates arrived to kill us. Our rented pom boat (canoe with 2 outriggers) had a small gas engine, and the pirates had to paddle out from the main island of Palawan. My brother-in-laws knew exactly how long it would take for the pirates to arrive. Scary! What’s it like on Java? Probably more civilized? No modern weapons were use during our Palawan hunt. I just watched.

there are no pirates here in Java. i was hunting in the cornfield that was located at the edge of government own coffee plantation that was owned by the dutch during the collonialization period. it was located on the mountain, about 800-900meters above sea level.

My favorite Indonesian Pig is the Babirusa of Sulawesi:

Followed by the Bearded Pig of Borneo:

Now those right there are some cool looking hogs! Too bad about the babirusa, because that would be a big-time trophy critter and a successful management and hunting program might have done wonders for the population... too late now, I guess.

That bearded pig... hmm... looks like another addition to my "one-of-these-days" hog hunting tv show.
