Howdy yall!
Hey I am planning my 1st pig hunt with my son this Sunday (12-18-2011) into the CNF. Are there any good access points that I can park and start walking in?

Right now the Cedar Falls trailhead, trail and falls area are closed until April, 2012 (per News Release Letter from CNF dated 11-07-2011), which includes the trailheads at Thornbush Road and Saddleback (Eagle Peak Road) to the falls.

I have been doing my homework, and it looks like anywhere around the San Diego River is where the majority of "sightings" have been taking place.

I am thinking around Witch Creek or Inaja Memorial area off the 78/79, unless there is something better.

Any info is greatly appreciated! Can I park my vehicle on the side of the road and walk in or what? Thanks in advance!

I would be very careful about parking and going in just anywhere there's a lot of private land and indian reservations scattered through out nf land. I've only hunted eagle rock and the palomar divide but haven't seen pig yet

Pick up a CNF map before hand. There are losts of places to enter CNF just a matter of where you want to hunt. You should be able to find a place to park off eagle peak rd. As for the river bed, you can park on top and hiks down steep hike though. Would not want to pack a pig back up that hill.
