Hey S. Tx,
<
to Jesse's!

My family hunted 800 acres north of Hondo about 10 years ago. We took several hogs out there, but nothing close to a 400 pounder!

Those big pigs can be tough on a dog thats fo sho! That area has some real nice hill country to hunt. A lot of good whitetail hunting too.
There are a lot of folks who love to pig hunt here, so you might have some interest in a Tx Hog hunt. Post up some of them hog pics when you get a chance.

I and my buddy did a paid unguided wild hog hunt in Live Oak county, TX and it was a rip-off. Never saw hogs or signs of hogs. It was a 5am to 7pm one day hog hunt over feeders that were empty probably for a long time and all she(the wife of the operator, as the operator was away window shopping in a gunshow) did was sprinkle a few handfuls of corn on the dirt road in front of the elevated blinds. We were sitting inside the elevated blinds all the time except to take a leak and it was a total bust. Naturally no hogs will come as the feeders were empty for a long time and the hogs were not going to be attracted that day to a few handfuls of corn spread on the ground. Buyer beware as always. We had better luck in the San Antonio area on that Wild Hog Hunts run by Paul and we had a very good and helpful comment from Chap_dog48 who hunted with his Dad on Paul's San Antonio area hog hunting ranch. Chap_dog48 posts in here on this Hog Hunting forum and in the Mule deer hunting forum. Thanks Chap_dog48 for your helpful e-mails when we asked for your comments and experiences in San Antonio. God Bless.

South TX Tigerstripes,
Do you know of any reputable hog hunts in La Salle county???? Big 'uns are definitely a plus, but a reliable, reputable hog hunt operator is a bigger concern than anything else. What are the current prices on those hog hunts in La Salle county??? Thanks for your reply. God Bless.

Yeah we have shot many hogs out of Fowlerton TX with Jody Starr outfitting. We always get several hogs and a few bobcats and cyotyes while we are down there. Even a few javilina every now and then. It is hard to beat a TX hog BBQ mmmm thats good stuff.
