I have a 1-1/2 year old Catahoula/Plott female that I am going to sell. She's very fast and aggressive on game, completely non-dog aggressive and very people friendly. I'm selling her 'cause I just got another young dog from a hunting partner and I have too many now. The only thing that doesn't fit with my dogs is that she tends to yip a tad just before she gets to the hog or if it breaks and she is running hot on it's heels, otherwise she's been quiet on track. All the rest of my dogs are 100% silent. Although I don't have tree dogs, she has treed a couple of coons so I know she would make a tree dog if you wanted to go that direction too. She's got a good nose and likes to track. If you are interested let me know and I can send you some more pics of her. I have some pics of her on hogs too.
My e-mail is bayedsolid at sti.net

Thanks.

Depends on the dog. Most hound dogs are complety open, meaning they bark on track going to the game or after if it's running, at the bay, or tree. She's not totally silent which is what I said to begin with. She doesn't bark on track at all, but like I said to begin with, she will yip a little if the hog breaks......but she's right on getting it stopped too.

A dog. I thought I covered that completely when I posted a picture along with a full, accurate, description.

I have been looking for a Plott/Cat Cross. You willing to give a trial? She been cut much, how many hogs she been on in the woods? Does she run any other trash ( I am a strictly hog hunter. no offense meant to anybody that runs other game). When you say aggressive, what exactly do you mean. Does she bay for a little while or strait catch? Whats the breeding history. Does she kennel bark?

She's going on trial this weekend and with what I know she'll do, she is basically sold but I'll answer your questions just in case.

Yes, I am willing to give a trial. She's only had a couple of small pokes. She's not in the 1st string rotation yet, but she's probably been on 40 or so hogs. She's never had the chance to trash besides a couple of coon trees to see if she actually would tree. I don't run my pups loose just so they can't trash. I was hoping to get my main strike dog to run bobcats with her but he could care less so I never pushed the tree thing with this pup, but I know she will. By aggressive I mean she's not scared to put the teeth to a hog, but she's a bay dog until the catchdog is loose.....unless it's a smaller hog. I know she comes from hunting dogs but the exact breeding history I don't know. No kennel bark. I hate that.

So I am the lucky one that ended up with her. I just wanted to say thank you Bayed- she is awesome. She officially started her first day at work here at the resort bright and early Sat. morning. She did an awesome job and took a couple hits for the team, much to my dismay. But she hung in there for almost two hours on the boar (seemed like forever) until I broke it up. A very hard worker, and fortunately smart about it! Great job with her - she was done just right!

You're welcome Deedy. I'm sure she'll be a great addition to the Bryson crew. I love my new pup too! FYI.....You'll probably have more hogs in your area soon. I know he's only 8 weeks old or so, but once word of the arrival of my new pup got out, the swine fleet in my area was heading west.

Too funny...
You'd just have to come here and hunt 'em!

We know the cats hate him already, but I really glad you like him.
