Went last sat.,big mistake, got drenched, boat filled w/water,15 hunters,1 pig taken was the report I got.
There is a big posting at the visitor center about the crap going on w/the neighbors.Completely slams the hunters.Picture of the head and hide left at Lib.Glen next to the picnic table, along w/a warning about a closure. To me it looks like it was placed there for the pic.or someone drove off and forgot their cape.
I'm heading for the lake on Thurs.,it should be coming alive up there.
I hunted close to LS yesterday and found things are looking up. We took one hog early and all helped in recovery which ended our hunt early. Also got on one other hog, no shot. Rooting has picked up so check secluded open areas early and especially late.... Pics to follow
Thanks Kentuck.... Let's get back up there.... I'm still tryin' to nail Speck down to a date but he's huntin' alot these days. Have you stuck a hog yet w/ yer bow??
I am getting out a bit more suddenly... and it sure is nice!
Unfortunately, I'm also getting ready to jump to a new project so don't know what my time looks like. I may suddenly find myself with some weekdays to kill in the very near (first weeks of March) future! But no idea for sure yet.
This working for a living thing is REALLY sucking! But it does seem to be paying off.
What've you got going on in March, prior to turkey season?
Dang... just realized that this is practically a thread hijack. Sorry about that.
Nope, haven't been to Lake Sonoma yet, and have not heard much in the way of reports...with the exception of the stories about neighbors complaining about tresspassing and poaching.
Watch those borders, and report any illegal or questionable activities as soon as you can.
Haven't been out pig hunting since our Nov trip. Not sure what my spring will look like. Baseball is ramping up and I've been asked to coach again this year.
I guess you can call it a Dumb blonde that didn't sleep in and got caught in the opened or aleast by your broahead. Good job on the hog. know pun intend jus funning.
I just got back from LS. I saw three pigs first thing Thursday morning and when I finally got to less than 50 yards away the pig decided to leave for no apperent reason. I guess I should have shot sooner
I saw a little fresh sign and not one other hunter the whole time I was there.
The pigs are starting to root and eat the bulbs at night. Good luck
Same with me today. I found a group of five within ten minutes of starting out before sunrise. Got to within 50 yards of them in the oaks, but lost them when I tried to get around and in front of them. Should have kept them in sight and just worked slowly in. Lots of fresh sign.
We went up to the Yorty Creek area yesterday, and there was sign all over. Unfortunately, we weren't able to flush any out. I was hoping for some beginner's luck since this was my first hog hunt...No Dice! I'll get em next time.
This is my first post to this forum. I have been reading it for a while and I figured it was time to jump in.
