This is what Im excited for in x12! Getting out in a beautiful place with a limited amount of other deer hunters. Open country with a better chance of success than I normally have. Hanging out with my brother for a whole week. Being in country I can glass with the type of terrain I can walk in . Having a nice tree to hang my hammock by the creek . And hopefully having a couple bucks hanging in camp ... what I don't have high expectations of is being able to be too fussy and passing on bucks just because I burned 9 points to get this tag. I don't expect to shoot the biggest buck if my life. Mostly cause I'm limited physically and have to be careful. I think what's slowing me down can also help me be more patient. I'm feeling thankful to have this freedom to hunt in this amazing country of ours. And thankful for a couple of guys on here that helped me and passed on some info privately. We can still chat and make connections on here and share some info. Just can't blast it to the public. Good luck and be safe out there. Watch out for tweakers , bears, cats, whoofs and whatever 😳!

Will do! We won't be waiting for it again so it's likely the last time I ever hunt it . except maybe a lucky random draw

Leaving in the morning for C zone. I will get camp set up and have a couple of days to scout. The rest of the group will be there Friday night or before sunrise on Saturday. It has been about 3 years since I hunted C zone. Things have changed a lot after some recent fires so who knows what we will find.

I went archery d13 where I went last year. Last year on same day we saw 14 deer. This year we saw zero. Not sure what changed?

Next weekend it'll be D3-5 opener, which I dont hold out too much hope for. This weekend I'll be going up to the Klamath basin for youth waterfowl weekend. Lots of driving coming up!

Nice , hope the kids have a great shoot! Can't wait for the general opener. Just hoping we get a bomber storm in D3-5 before the end of the season. Wishful thinking! I have a hard time getting excited bout that zone for deer without some weather . There are guys that get it done every year though. I'm definitely not dedicated enough

It helps to have private land in that zone these days. The migration to the public land high country is minimal these days.
