I have not heard about that lens wapiti. Whats the f-stop on it?
Any lens that is better for low light is a good lens!

It is Sigma's version of VR, in Nikon it vibration reduction, in Sigma it's optical stabilization. It's a 5.6 at 400, but the OS lets you shoot handheld at lower shutter speeds, much like gaining 3-4 f-stops.

Canon has IS, I guess Image Stabilization....

I looked at it instead of the Canon 100-400 IS L, but decided to stick with Canon gear due to occasional compatibility problems with sigma equipment. I have seen very good photos taken with it when I was researching!

Using my 100-400 in low light, I still have to bump up the ISO to get the desired shutter speeds. The IS will help, but not as much as having a f/2.8 lens. My .02
