Wait a little bit later in the year say late oct. or Dec. when it cools down ( for your benefit. Then head up to Pozo. Do a little exploration on foot around the private lands and you'd be surprised at the number of pigs that can be found on public lands.
No Hogs in Frazier Park........Deer, Bear, Turkey, Quail, Dove, Band Tailed's, Squirrel, Fox, Coyote, Rabbit....I'm sure I'm missing something...I heard from some hikers I passed on a trail, they saw two rams butting heads on a hillside, but I never saw them.
Actually, I thought that was a pretty good joke yotegetter.
Some years back there was a single hog that roamed near Frazier Park for quite some time. He was fairly well known by the forest rangers up there, apparently a domestic hog that went wild. The rangers even had a name for him. My brother-in-law and his buddies were quail hunting up there when they spotted the hog across a canyon. One of the guys had a .243 and a book of pig tags in his truck. To make a long story short, the guy whacked the hog with the .243. They had the hog hanging when a lady forest ranger came up on them. She said she was disappointed he was dead because she liked catching a glimpse of him now & then but she wasn't so disappointed that she wouldn't like to be invited to the bbq. The guy did invite her to the bbq and they ended up dating for a good while after that.
I believe the other guys are right, though, no more hogs.
