Anyone know of a website for identifying native American plants? Don't guess anyone would just happen to know what this is. I am assuming it is native to the sourh east 'cause I found it growing in the woods. I guess it could have been planted but I did not see any indication that there had ever been a house place in this area. It was the only one I saw, bush about four feet tall. Leaves look like it might be some kind of holly but Googling holly did not turn up a match.

Looks like a variant of Oregon Grape or Oregon Grape Holly, Mahonia aquifolium, a.k.a. State Flower of Oregon.

I believe you nailed it Orygun. But it must have been brought in. I will go back and see if I can find sign of an old home place there. Thanks!
