That would be...a opossum. They are marsupials related to kangaroo's.

...LMAO! Good one. I just can't stop thinking of that little possum scamperin across the yard, when all of a sudden, here come some joker chasing him down, picking him up and trying to calm him down.

"Ho...ld........still....it's okay fluffy, we'll find your mamma!"

Has to be a joke. Opossom aren't the fasted or meanest critters, but I don't see 'em picking one up and getting past the teeth. Unless they caught it in a live trap and are too skeered to touch it.

We have quite a few around here.
I actually put food out for them.
That way they leave the avocados alone.
