While I don't live in Montana, I've visited the Treasure state on 5 different occations including hunting out there with some friends that have lived there for about 20 yrs. I got to spend the last 2 weeks of rifle season there this past November. I thoroughly enjoy it out there, and can't wait to visit again. I know there's a few JHP members from Montana that post every once in a while. Maybe they'll read this and reply. So welcome to Jesses and enjoy yourself.
I live in Cut Bank, NW of Great Falls...I am thinking about putting in for elk tag in missouri breaks, what the hunting like there? Are there many elk? Wheres the best section to put in by...? I hunt over here in the mountains and Sweet Grass Hillls for elk, deer, antelope, and on the plains for pheasant and waterfowl. Each spring we go down to SE MT by Miles City to hunt turkeys..I really want to get a bull elk next year, I'm just trying to figure out where I should put in for...I also am a bowhunter, so I'm going to try to get a bull during archery season first..
Hi there montana_hunter 16
buck59 here from the southwest corner 45 minutes south of Butte. My inlaws live on the High Line in Chester just 30 miles from the Canadian border.
Hello to everyone first post and many more to come.
I hunted in eastern Montana last year. I was in the Wibaux area and took a nice 4x4. I will always give props to Montana. I even named my dog Montana after the hunt.
