Hey you Arizonans, do any of you wish to share your knowledge of "hot" spots for 2004 in units 22, 23 or 27?

In 97 I took a nice old sow out of 22 (West of Payson) but have been back there three other years since, and all the scat was old, and even though there have been good Prickly Pear crops the bears have not been in the area. According to the Game & Fish the bears were up much higher feeding on acorns.

Right now it looks like I will hunt somewhere along Hwy 191 in unit 27.

I know where 2 cinnomins are in unit 22 and 27 is packed full of bears if you want to try calling. I will be going after the bears in 22 so that info will not be disclosed.

Thanks for the reply. In unit 27 I was suggested to try Bear Wallow Wilderness, but even that is large. Any other places?

Bear Wallow Wilderness is a great area, but expect competition from the hounds and horses.
We have glassed there in the past and seen alot of good sign this year.
1 thing we learned about 5 years ago, is to use the hounds to your advantage.
Listen to them while they are on the run and start setting up deep in, they'll come your way.
May piss off a few Out of State outfitters....but this year, anything goes.....
