I am leaving thursday for the opener on friday. There will be a few clients in camp and hopefully I will have some good stories. The rain in the past few days should help a bit. Anyone else going out for AZ opener??????

The Elk are not in full swing yet, they are bugling, but on/off. We had three hunters who all have had shots but passed on smaller bulls 325 and under. There are some big bulls that Duwane has located and hopefully rut kicks in sometime later this week and they can call in & shoot a book bull. I have spoken with quite a few guys who hunted other units and it is tough right now untill the bulls start bugling more. Rich Long of eagle eye outdoors got a good 307 bull for his first archery kill. I will update you guys if your interested..............Allen

Thanks for keeping us posted, my dad and I have November rifle permits for 6a in November for elk and listening to everyone talk about the elk is getting us very excited. Which area are you guys hunting in with bow season? Good luck and post pics if you can.

We are hunting unit 1 & 27. I am supposed to go back up this weekend, but dont think I can. The camp and tag holders are still up there and will hunt through the 26th. Duwane Adams has a few 6a clients for the rifle hunt you have. I dont know if you have been there before, but if you want, I can hook you up with a map service that will detail a couple spots that they have been spotting good bulls, directions on how to access the locations and written instructions/tips to increase your chances of success.
