i hope the dep. hunters kill all them pigs. it would serve the state right. they turned hogs into a cash cow. and so did guides charging people 600-1000 bucks for a non-game, ground destroying nuisance.

Non-Native(unlike deer) destructive to natural enviroment and of no purpose other than economics to the privet land owners/leasees and the state DFG that is concentrated on enviromental issue more than the no good poachers. (I know I'm gonna get lynched for saying that)

Might be a Dep hunt and not worthy of the respect of all you hardcore hunting guys but it was still fun!

I'm saying that they surely don't belong in the same class as black-tail deer or Tule Elk. They are an introduced non native destructive enviromental disaster. I think they are doing the state nothing but harm and destruction and that the should be killed off yes. I wonder What Teddy Rosevelt would say about them and what they are doing to the natural habitat of other native game animals who we are suppossed to be protecting to ensure our future generations have good natural lands to hunt and fish. What would anyone that doesn't make money or want to kill for pure enjoyment have to say about the impact that the pigs are haveing on our great state. And not to say it isn't enjoyable or a good economic factor for many but at what price.

I hunt pigs whenever and where ever I get a chance and help out on Dep permits again any chance and anywhere I can. And if you noticed at no time did I claim that any pig killed under Dep Rules was at all hunting I am very adiment about the fact that it is not hunting, even to the point of correcting the dispatch lady with DFG when she says "Good Luck Hunting" when I'm calling in our activity. And I also gave credit to all you Bow hunters saying that some day I might get good enough to consider buying a bow. You guys are busting my chops prettie good on this one. I knew I was barking up the wrong tree about the whole pig situation here in California but let a guy have his opinion huh.

That 300 pounder from FHL was taken in unit 10/13. I was right next to him in unit 7 when he fired and I about soiled myself he was that close to me. I didn't see the shot but jumped behind an oak tree just in case. He shot it with a 30-06 and blew off one tusk and then dropped it with the second shot. He never found the tusk that was shot off as it was right at dusk.

Anyways, nice hog, it took several of us to help him get it on that scale. Biggest hog at FHL I've seen are that 300 pounder and another 300 lb hog a guy shot a few years back. The brother to that hog is still out there and is the "Ghost Hog" I've talked about. Never can catch him in a legal area to shoot him.

I asked that guy why he shot the tusk off and he said all he had was a head on shot and it was gettting dark fast. I think he said it was about a 90 yard shot.

Just a bit left as they say.

If you know where the steep ravine is that straddles the east side of 10/13 and 7 that's where that pig got plugged at.
