I feel like I'm 10 years old right now!!!!! Incredible thing just happened..... Just got a call from Capt'n Griffith of the DFG..........Captain Roy went out a few years ago to Outfitters around California soliciting for free hunts as a reward for a few lucky Hunter Education Instructors. This year he got about 25 different hunts. The ones left when they got to me were a goose hunt down in Imperial Valley, a frog gig deal, or a pig hunt AND LODGING for 3 days on Ft. Tejon. Needless to say............I'm in for the boar hunt!!!!! April 2014. I don't get this kinda luck very often so I'm both blessed and happy as you can imagine. Awesome!!!!!!!!!

I've been teaching hunter ed for almost 20 years now and this incentive program is a pretty awesome thing, props to Captn Roy Griffith for coming up with this idea and making it happen for his instructors!!!! Cool......

It sure is a great program. My buddy and fellow Hunters Education instructor won the deer hunt last week through this program. He is going to Catalina Island next month. I need to put in for the Veteran Elk hunt on FHL.

Congratulations,

It sure is. Definitely put in for that Vet tag on Ft. Hunter Liggett!!!!!!!! I kinda got "lucky" in that I didn't get selected as an early on winner as I would've really wanted to do the Catalina hunt (2 deer btw), but I've got an elk hunt at Travaputs (Book Cliffs) ranch those same exact days (13-17th) in September. He should do well, those bucks are healthy and big on the Island, more so than here on the coast. When they wiped out the last goats and pigs on Catalina, the deer didn't have to compete with them for food anymore and due to that they've really gotten to be some awesome deer body size and antlers as well. Cheers!
