It's not sexy but I've got a shot at a 6A archery cow elk

...also 23 Whitetail and bonus points for sheep and antelope.

Did you apply for the bonus point only for $5?

Hmmm, I put in for unit 23 for whitetail too. Points only for elk this year.

Points only for elk, sheep, speed goats and bighorn. Waiting to see how the NR fees shake out. Not real happy then stopped the online process and wanted the fees upfront.

Not sure what the fees are going to be in the next few years, but I know they are working on getting an online system where they can charge fees at the time of application, like Colorado does. At least you will be able to charge the fees and then be refunded for those you don't draw. You'll have to pay 6 weeks of interest on it though. Maybe get a Cabela's card specifically for hunt tags that'll give some of your interest money back?

I went points only. The reason ( and it really didn't feel great) is that I have an alaska trip and a argentina dove trip along with our group trip for utah deer. So, with our new child at home, there was no way to add an arizona hunt that would require a great deal of attention if a good tag was drawn.

I can't wait to hear about everyone else and the trips/tags they get.

Good luck to all.

Coues,

Are you associated with desertbull.com? My buddies and I are interested in that type of scouting service for AZ elk, but skeptical. I know of other companies who sell packets of regurgitated DFG zone reports.

I'm interested in anyone's 2 cents on these scouting services for out of state hunters.

Thanks,

My uncle and I applied for a cow Elk tag in Region 3 Unit 10. He's been successful in the past, so let's see how we do this time.

Good Luck Gents,
Jess.

Got lucky last year, now I'm down to just one elk point.

Trying for 10 archery and late rifle.

Also 13B deer (7 points), 41W and 46B sheep (12 points, going for draw odds on tougher hunts in case the price triples next year), and 10 and 8 antelope (8 points).

Figure you have to apply and try to draw this year, who knows what next year will bring. Hopefully the passage of SB339 will allow other methods to preserve resident opportunity, so price increases will not squeeze out the average guy. If nonresidents do draw, got to look at it as taking a tag away from a USO client, not a resident.

Dawg: Had to remove your photo. It was too big. Can you resize and try again?

12A West for deer. I drew that one last year. What are the odds of me drawing again?

Archery Elk, Unit 1
Sheep, 43
Lope, 19b, I think

I didn't apply for the Antelope point.
