AZ JAVELINA HUNT

My two sons got drawn for a youth javelina hunt in AZ zones 20 and 20 b. This will be our first time hunting out of state. My question is does anybody have any advice on this hunt or just any general advice on hunting out of state for the first time? The hunt is Jan 23

I am not familiar with those zones but javelina hunting is great. Look for fresh sign in sand washes, food and water. They are pack animals and run in groups of ten plus (usually) and don't underestimate the ability to call them in. You can order a javelina call on line and sometimes bring them in on a string right to you. It's very fun hunting. They are also excellent table fare, just be careful not to touch their glands and contaminate the meat.

There are several youth camps for 20b jav also. Go back and review the Az jav regs for specific youth camps.
