Well my son, brothers, and cousin drew Unit 9 cow elk tags - Can't wait it was a great hunt last year. Three of those lucky dogs drew last year also. Hopefully more meat in the freezer !! Can't wait to start pre-season scouting !! Really excited about teaching my son the ins and outs of this hunt unit. We will be freezing our butts off though, it is in mid December. Brrrr !!

Cool. Cant wait for our Arizona youth hunt in October. My friend says the biggest issue with the whole trip is care of the meat.

Should be fun. Wish AZ would split the points between bull and antlerless/cow tags, but of course if you've already got your AZ bull and you want to hunt, then it keeps the rest of us from competing for the limited tags.

CODE3RUN,

Ditto on the care of the meat. Be prepared remove the skin as soon as possible, keep it clean, dry and cool. You may have to cut it up and pack it out so be prepared for that as well. If you are not going to process it yourself, there are some meat processors who bring up refrigerated trailers to the area and will take your elk in for processing and you can pick it up later. Flagstaff is not to far away, and there is a good processor up there I would recommend; Coconino Game Processing. - Good luck !
