Anyone know a place to buy quail chick for dog training in CA preferably near the inland empire? I was told there's one over by Prado, but google gives me nothing. Figured I'd ask the experts!

Sammy, never been there but you might try the Chino Auction. I also heard of a guy in Santa Fe Springs that raises quail on the side . Leo's Lawn Mower Shop is his main business. Again everthing is second hand info. Take it for what it's worth.

Thanks guys!

I'll try the place in ontario monday just 'cuz it's close. I have about 6 more months to get my dog off the fur and onto feather before that socialization windows closes. At least he's already shot steady and knows his whoah, come, and go get it commands (plus all the tricks for the ladies). Oh, did I mention he points too(at squirrels and rabits)? All that in a 15lb terrier mutt!

Take that purebred hunting folk!:smiley-mouse:

Thanks guys! I really appreciated it!. My dog isn't a real hunting dog, like a GSP, but he has a natural ability to hunt and point at squirrels and rabbit by scent, so i figured i'd try and hone it to hunt birds. I'll let y'all know how it goes!

Thanks again!

Haha. A pug? I'll bet he points at food... while he's not struggling to breath outta that smashed face! Don't worry. I promise you'll laugh REALLY HARD at me when you meet my dog... I want a GSP. BADLY. It'll have to wait- one dog in medical school is plenty.

I have 2 numbers for the breeder by the Ontario airport.
House number 909-988-4634
Cell number 909-292-6103

Grand pa raises the birds speaks mostly Spanish.
They do church on Saturdays so it is very hard to get birds that day of the week.

Last time I picked up birds from them Bob Whites were $5 and Chucker were $8. Where do you plan to train? If you buy Chucker get a receipt in case you get stopped by the DFG. If no one answers the house phone call the wife on the cell 2 make sure someone will be there. I’d like to join you guys on this weekends hunt but my 11yr. old son is tired of dragging his 1100 all over the mountains and wants to duck hunt Saturday and has the Jr. Pheasant hunt on Sunday.
