Williamsville, Mo. -- On Jan. 30 a landowner near Williamsville reported an injured immature bald eagle on his property. The eagle was captured and transported to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for treatment. Unfortunately, the eagle died that night. An examination revealed that the bird was shot.
“Shooting and killing a bald eagle is a senseless act and one that authorities take very seriously,” said Mic Plunkett, Wayne County conservation agent for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).
