Here are a few pics from a recent bear attack on one of my cams. The first pic is the very first pic on the roll and the rest I kinda just pulled them out in sequence to show the progress of the attack. The cam ended up about 10 feet from the tree facing up. I got 6 very nice pics of the tree tops as the sun went over and triggered the PIR. I thought it was stolen but glad I found it no worse for wear.

THE APPROACH!

HOPE THAT'S NOT WHAT I THINK IT IS!

CAM IS DOWN AND OUT!

TAKES A LICKIN AND KEEPS ON TICKIN!

I think the bear is showing you what he thinks of your camera in Pic #2

Wow. That is awesome.

Glad to see the cam kept on working. Did it survive the attack OK? Or were major repairs in order?

Thanks.

Great sequence of pics.  Mine didn't fare as well when the bear took it out.  It was still on the tree but the PIR was beat to s*&^^.

Again great pics.

The only thing that was damaged on the cam was one of the plastic tabs was broken off. There were some teeth marks pretty deep into the PVC box but luckily he didn't get his teeth on the fresnal lense part. Just luck I guess.
My brother and I are currently designing a theft proof/bear proof frame for the PVC box that'll "go over' the cam and chain to the tree. A demo unit has been built but needs a few adjustments. Hopefully I can get them done and retrofitted this winter so when the bears awake in the spring they'll have a bit of a challange. We'll see!
