Bear Basin Customer Service

I am trying to purchase a new Bushell Elite 3200 rifle scope and a Bushnell Elite Spotter. I have heard Bear Basin mentioned many time, though I found both items much cheaper at another location. After reading the price matching policy on Bearbasin's website I put together a fax with all the info and sent a request that they review and contact me to verify if they would match asking them to call or e-mail me. We'll I sent it in yesterday at 9am, it is now 1:30pm the next day, so I call. The guy is quite rude and short with me and said it would be 3-4 more hours and said they would contact me and basically hung up on me.

So, can anyone else give me an idea of what kind of service they have had with this outfit. I went with them as I thought service should be good, but if this is normal and not just a busy friday, then I'll take my business elsewhere.

If I was treated like you have been treated, I would never give them any of my money. I say go somewhere else. I have never bought anything from Bear Basin, but I was considering buying some Leicas from them. Probably not now. Too bad for them.

I'd take my business elsewhere. I bought my new Leicas and Swarovski Spotter through Bear Basin. While talking to the owner Bill at the SHOT show he mentioned he would like to advertise here with us. LAter I tried to contact Bill to talk about the advertising and he just blew off my several calls and emails.

At the very least he could have just said no thanks or I changed my mind. I'm not sure what's going on there now.

On another optics note, JHO is now a Leupold dealer and we will be picking up other optics brands in the future. We will be bending over backwards with the customer service.

When I bought my Leupold full size Gold Ring binocs from them, the guy I spoke to was really helpful and took an interest in making sure I got all the info I needed to make an intelligent decision.

Well......I have purchased six scopes from them. The customer service has been excellent. The folks I have vistited with on the phone have been very polite and helpfull. They also know their stuff. I received the wrong scope on one purchase, a rifle scope instead of the handgun scope I ordered. I called them and they overnighted the correct one without waiting for mine to get back to them.

A follow-up note. I have not purchased from Bear Basin, but they did e-mail me as they said they would, though much later than they said. They did agree to match a much better price I found at an east coast camera shop. I got side tracked with the unfortunate early death(38 yrs old) of my wife's brother and am just getting back to catching up with these kinds of issues. It's good to see some have had good expeiences but some havn't, especially the great pooh-bah(Jesse).

P.S. I'll be in the market for a Leoplold scope for my Weatherby soon and look forward to paying this site back for all the info and feedback by buying through you Jesse. A word of caution, don't muddy the water here with too much marketing as this site will lose it's real appeal which is good honest banter not biased by personal profit.

I've bought a few things from Bear Basin. I find it hard to beat their prices elsewhere. Customer Service was excellent. You kinda have to prod them along. Seems like they are very busy, but will answer all your questions very politely. Yes sir. No sir.

i have nothing but good things to say about them so far
however i will keep your experience with them in mind
