I have been trying to plan my first hunt for some time now but do not know where to start. No one in my family, or any of my friends hunt.

Anyone within a couple hours of the SF Bayarea want to take a beginner hunting? I am wanting to tag along with a hunter who may be able to teach me a few things about hunting. I’m not necessarily looking to put meat on the table but it would be a plus. I’m looking for more the experience to get a feel for it so I know what to expect when I go on my own. I have taken the hunters education class and can pick up a license and tag any time.
I cannot afford to pay a guided hunt as I am in college, and my work has cut my days to once a week.

Any advice for a beginner would be appreciated also

Thank you,<o></o>

Ronnie, good luck in your search. It took me two long years to finally tagged my first hog and it was not easy. I was in the same boat as you are. I tried tagging with friends, but most of them want you go separate ways once you got to the hunting area; instead of letting me following them to see what I can learn from that experienced. I got my first hog at a public hunting land.

ronnie, why dont you hire a guide? or sign up for some of the group hunts that show up here from time to time? lots of great opportunities.
