Public Invited To Use Olympic Biathlon Range At Soldier Hollow
July 21st, 2003 -- No experience is necessary to participate in the Olympic Biathlon Experience at Soldier Hollow this summer. Participants can try the two-sport activity combining shooting on the Olympic range with mountain biking, inline skating or hiking. Using the same rifles from the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, participants are provided four clips of five shots each.
Three packages exist for the Olympic Biathlon Experience. The bronze costs $10 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 6-17) for a one-hour session with 10-meter air rifles, including range instruction and rifle use. The silver costs $49 for adults and $29 for youth for a two-hour session, combining trail use on mountain bikes or inline skates with shooting of air rifles. The gold cost $79 for adults and $59 for youth for a two-hour session with use of .22 caliber rifle and ammunition plus trail access. Team relays or individual competitions are also conducted.
