Just wanted to get everyone fired up for the upcoming shed season. I am going to go out this weekend for a little recon mission. Here are some pictures of a matching set of 6 point bull sheds I found late last summer about 60 yards apart that I never posted. I scored them at about 340 so not to bad of a find. Good Luck

Those are some awsome sheds, good job on finding the set. Your pics have got me excited for this season. In March I am going up to Montana to hunt for elk sheds for about three weeks. Last year I did well, hope to do the same this year

hey fossilman, do you do pretty well up there in the snowy's? i live in billings, usually just hunt ranches nearby, but have thought about forest service land, just usually dont have the time to get away and make a day of it.

Canon-I use to live in Roundup for 20 years or so,I hunt the Bull Mountains ,lots of goodies there too....................The Lewistown area is a great spot and around Lavina..............Between Roundup and Musselshell,is a great place to hunt whitetail shedds(on the river bottom).
I go to Roundup every summer(still have family there). My home away from home...............
I always wanted to head off to Red Lodge and do some shedd hunting in that area..............
As soon as my kids are out of school and on their own,its back to Montana for me..............

Fossilman-
I hunted on a ranch just past musselshell just this last season, first year on and the landowner already sold the property, I took a good mule deer just off the river there and saw lots of nice whitetail and a few elk. Shame to already be off. Ive dove hunted up along there between roundup and mussellshell though- beautiful area! Its such a great area, just hard to get on, ive approached a few ranches but wasnt well received, my impression is most of the land on the river is leased- is this correct? you may be more familiar with that are than i am. Land in that area is very much a delicacy. do you actually hunt up in the bulls or just shed hunt? ive wanted to get up in there for a long time, i just started bow hunting so have been more interested in hunting there, but once again am up against a wall getting permission. Just about hit a 6 X 6 on the highway heading up to that ranch i hunted...i think it would have done more damage to my little toyota than to the elk ;-) always fun to talk to someone hunting areas in the same general area.
